Domino’s Pizza confirms its desire to electrify its fleet by installing electric bicycles and scooters and calls on the French startup Morio to solve the biggest problems in fleet management: theft and maintenance.
From April 2019, all Domino’s Pizza franchises in Lyon will be equipped with Morio tracking devices. While the startup equipped 2 stores in April 2018 for a pilot project, it is now the 16 Lyon stores that are adopting the web platform.
This signature is in continuity with the deployment of the solution on a national scale, particularly in the cities of Paris and Marseille.
A service platform and sensors to reduce theft and management costs
Morio’s tracking devices communicate via Sigfox’s 0G network, the world’s leading provider of connectivity solutions dedicated to the Internet of Things (IoT). A logical choice since Sigfox offers the best autonomy, the best security and a coverage of the territory which now reaches more than 92% of the French population. Morio was thus able to focus on the development of an autonomous, hidden, tamper-proof tracking system.
The collaboration between Domino’s Pizza and Morio was natural. Domino’s Pizza’s two-wheelers drive noon and night, every day of the year, regardless of the weather. Proper fleet management is therefore a strategic and essential element for success.
In order to facilitate the work of fleet managers and reduce management costs, Morio offers on its web platform features such as the paperless maintenance logbook, reminders of maintenance operations to be performed as well as predictive maintenance. These features facilitate maintenance and guarantee an optimal organization of the latter.
With regard to vehicle protection, a button in the application allows to quickly report a theft. Morio then remotely activates the relevant sensor and provides the position of the two-wheelers, which makes it possible to rapidly locate it.
The perspectives
« THE STRENGTHENING OF THE PARTNERSHIP WITH DOMINO’S PIZZA FRANCE IS AN IMPORTANT STEP FOR US TO PUT TO USE OUR MACHINE LEARNING AND PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE FEATURES ON LARGER VOLUMES. THIS ALLOWS US TO ATTACK NEW FRENCH AND INTERNATIONAL MARKETS MORE EFFECTIVELY FROM 2019. »
